PowerPC was the main processor in Macs from the early 90's to 2006. These processors ranged from 10MHz all the way up to 2.5GHz, then there were dual-processor configurations that pick up even more speed. The PowerPC processors were the start for New-World Rom. The original iMac G3, PowerMac G3, PowerMac G4, iBook G3, PowerBook G4, iMac G4, iBook G4, Xserve G4, PowerMac G5, iMac G5, and the Xserve G5 were notifiable computers for looks way different from any PC manufacture with a computer running the Windows Operating System. PowerPC was supported for 4 years after Apple discontinued it, the PowerPC almost had a 15 year run with Apple, the PowerPC chips are my favorite processor, because it was an architecture not used in a PC.
